DuPont Non-stick Coatings

We apply DuPont non-stick coatings containing PFA, PTFE, FEP, PVDF, ETFE and ECTFE fluoropolymer resins. These coatings allow us to solve problems such as chemical corrosion, sticking, and friction up to operating temperatures of 600° F/315° C.

Dupont fluoropolymer non-stick coatings are available in ultra thin film thicknesses of 5 microns (.0002") up to thick film coatings of 2540 microns (.100").

PFA Coatings have the broadest range of chemical resistance of all DuPont non-stick coatings at the highest temperatures.

Porosity of PFA coatings is generally lower than PTFE DuPont non-stick coatings. Other characteristics include good non-stick properties and a very low coefficient of friction. Many versions of PFA DuPont non-stick coatings are available including FDA compliant coatings for direct food contact uses. Maximum operating temperatures are generally 500° F/260° C.

PFA DuPont non-stick coating application thicknesses can range from 12 microns (.0005") to 1016 microns (.040").

PTFE Coatings have nearly the same broad range of chemical resistance that PFA DuPont non-stick coatings have. The coefficient of friction is the lowest of all the fluoropolymers.
Many versions of PFA DuPont non-stick coatings are available including FDA compliant coatings for direct food contact uses. Other characteristics include good abrasion resistance and excellent chemical resistance. Maximum operating temperatures are generally 550° F/290° C.

PTFE DuPont non-stick coating application thicknesses can range from 12 microns (.0005") to 203 microns (.008").

FEP Coatings have a smaller range of chemical resistance than either PFA DuPont non-stick or PTFE DuPont non-stick coatings as well as a lower operating temperature of 400° F/204° C. They are the best non-stick coatings.

FEP DuPont non-stick coating thicknesses can range from 12 microns (.0005") to 2540 microns (.100").

PVDF Coatings have a very large range of chemical resistance properties and are the most resistant to the harshest chemicals such as hydrochloric acid and sulfuric acid.

PVDF operating temperatures are much lower than some of the other DuPont non-stick coatings and range only up to 300°F/150°C.

Thicknesses are available up to 2540 microns (.100").

ETFE Coatings are thermoplastic copolymer coatings with extremely good toughness and abrasion resistant characteristics. They have excellent chemical resistance to a very broad range of harsh chemicals. DuPont markets their ETFE Coatings unter the Tefzel tradename.

ETFE coatings are also an excellent electrical insulator and have good non-stick and low friction properties. Maximum operating temperature is 300°F/150°C.
Thicknesses are available up to 2540 microns (.100").

DuPont Non-stick S Coatings are unique blends of non-stick fluoropolymers and other high performance resins added to enhance toughness and abrasion resistance. DuPont non-stick S coatings also have excellent non-stick and low friction properties. Maximum operating temperatures range up to 500°F/260°C.

Thicknesses are available up to 75 microns (.003").
