Non-Wetting Coatings
Non-Wetting and Wetting Properties Are Sometimes Critical Characteristics
In Your Choice Of Coating.
The ability of a surface to "wet out" or "not wet out" can
be a crucial element of any process. Coatings are available with either one
of these surface properties.
Coatings that will "wet out" allow the liquid coming into contact
with the coated surface to flow to a thin film.
Coatings that "will not wet out" allow the liquid coming into contact
with the coated surface to "bead".
Fluoropolymer coatings are unmatched by any other engineering material. Single
or multiple coat systems provide slip, non-stick, non-wetting, wetting, heat
and chemical resistant surfaces to a variety of substrates. In addition, the
coatings may have excellent dielectric properties and cryogenic stability.
Fluoropolymer coatings can be applied to many surfaces including metal, glass,
and ceramic. Film thicknesses range from several microns to over 100 mils.
Uses of Non-Wetting Coatings
- Mold release
- Chemical process equipment
- Pumps and compressors
- Industrial bakeware
- Automobiles and trucks
- Glass coatings
